Veterans Benefits

The Pennsylvania Gunsmith School® was founded in 1949 to train the returning World War II Veterans. Through our history, veterans have been an integral part of PGS. In recent years, veterans have made up approximately one third of our student population.

Pennsylvania Gunsmith School® is approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Veterans Education Benefits.  Typical programs that Veterans apply for and use at PGS are:

  • GI Bill® – including Post 9/11 (Ch. 33)
  • VA Veteran Readiness & Employment Program (Chapter 31)
